Life often flows not according to our plans, but according to what our soul needs. So, where do we stand in this flow? Are we truly in control, or are we just clinging to an illusion? Here is a brief inner journey into the depths of existence...
The Divine Balance Between What Is and What Isn’t
Gratitude is not just smiling on good days; it is looking at what you have with true appreciation. Life does not give us what we want; it gives us what we need for our evolution (evolution of the soul). Everything that happens—and everything that doesn't—is shaped by our spiritual growth.
Therefore, there is a blessing in both the presence and the absence of things. What happens is what must happen; it is a spiritual necessity. What we desperately want but do not receive often stems from the ego (nafs). Sometimes a desire is spiritual, but its time hasn't come, or it simply isn't meant to be.
The Illusion of Control and Our Role in the Game
In this world, we enter through a door and play our roles with consciousness. We do not know what is written in our destiny; yet, our greatest delusion is falling for the illusion of control. Especially after a "spiritual awakening," one might think, "I am the king of my life." However, we are neither the ultimate doer nor the one who commands the action.
We are players in a grand game of our own choosing. Even if our intellect and intuition whisper about our potential, we cannot know everything. We move forward as if feeling our way in the dark, without knowing the full plan or the path ahead. We live in a state of uncertainty: what looks "bad" might lead to the ultimate "good," and what looks "good" might lead to a trial.
Unconditional Effort: Being Part of the Orchestra
What, then, is our duty? It is to do our best with the knowledge, skills, and means at hand—and then let go of the rest. Just like an instrument in an orchestra performing its own nature... or like the sun shining and warming the earth effortlessly, just by being...
• We must perform our own music.
• Without the need for display, proof, or validation.
• Without the pressure of results or the expectation of gain.
The sun and the violin are at their own peaks of existence. But humans are different. Because we are "created in the image of the Divine," we often mistake ourselves for the entire ocean. We credit our power to ourselves and try to control everything. Yet, true power lies in surrender.
Being on the Path is Enough
Our only duty is to live with a clear conscience, to align our lives with our values, and to strive sincerely for our pure dreams. The true goal is to be better than yesterday—in emotion, thought, and behavior.
• If you are better than you were yesterday, that is enough.
• If there is no result but you have put in the effort, that is enough.
• Even if you have no strength left to strive, simply "being" there is enough.
Let us not be angry at what didn't happen, what we couldn't do, or what wasn't given to us. Without even expecting divine justice, divine favor, or a divine return, let us simply stay on the path to becoming our best versions.
Remember: Water flows and finds its way. Water may get murky at times, but its essence is still water. The essence of water is as pure and clean as its source.
Trust in your essence and your source, and flow as your heart desires, beautiful soul...
